AdVenture Expo 2005

AdVenture Expo 2005

We had a fantastic event at the Glenelg Adventurous Activity Centre with over 150 Venturers and Leaders checking out some of the great activities we have to offer in Scouts SA.

Displays and activities presented included: AV2006, the EV Theme Team, The YAC Team, Theatrical Activities Rover Crew, VenSAT, Bushwalking and Canoeing Teams, and a great Geo-Caching activity.

A big thanks goes to all Leaders and Venturers for coming along and supporting this event. In particular a group of leaders gave extra time to help out with the fine details, these include Bob Ellis for his ideas and organisation, Ross Vivian for help at the Registration Desk (not mean feat with over 150 people walking through the doors) setting up and cleaning up, Julian Stone for helping with set up and clean up and lots of mingling with the Venturers getting information fliers out, and to Michael Woodward and Len Weir for marking the score sheets and announcing the winners of our Observation Trail. Thanks also goes to Bruce James-Martin for the use of the Activity Centre and Derek Stevens and his canoeing crew for getting the Venturers out on the water.

AdVenture Expo 2005Congratulations to Emma and Sarah from Flagstaff Hill Venturer Unit (shown here with Michael Woodward), on winning the Observation Trail, hopefully you have taken away lots of information to be used in your Unit Programming. Special thanks goes to the Scout Outdoor Centre for the day packs we presented to the winning team.

The Expo will run in the 3rd week of First Term every year, so keep an eye out for the information at SuperSplash and throughout the school summer holidays. It is a great way to make contacts with Activity Leaders, and just getting to know other Venturers and Leaders from around the state.
