Role of the Venturer

The Venturer Scout should keep the passport up to date and should also keep a folio of all activities and all paper work involved with all Activity areas undertaken. This folio together with the passport should form a part of Unit Council considerations. A folio may consist of planning notes, reports, records, expedition logs, photographs, and research material.

It is the responsibility of the Venturer Scout to arrange a formal interview with the District Commissioner after all the technical requirements have been met.

Recommendation of the Unit Council, Venturer Scout Leader, Group Council and District Venturer Scout Council must be complete before the Queen’s Scout’s application is forwarded to the Award Standards Committee (you should allow at least one month for the Award Standards Committee to process your application).

After the Award Standards Committee has approved the technical requirements, the District Commissioner interview can be completed. The application is then forwarded to the Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts c/- Scout Headquarters. This must all be completed before the potential Queen’s Scout turns 18. Completion of the form ‘Application for Presentation - Queen’s Scout Award’ must be forwarded to Scout Headquarters. The closing date for applications is May 31st each year.

Queen’s Scouts whose names have been received at Headquarters will be sent an invitation to attend both the Queen’s Scout Dinner and the Queen’s Scout Award Certificate Presentation.
