Review Process:- Technical Requirements

The Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts has the ultimate responsibility of approving a Venturer Scout’s Award Scheme work. The Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts may pass this responsibility on to a nominee.

Each Venturer Scout should be considered individually and the Award Scheme work proven to the ‘best of the Venturer Scout’s ability’.
Where obvious standards are not met, “the nominee” should refer the matter directly to the Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts for further investigation.

Award Scheme standard discrepancies may have occurred through:

To rectify the situation the Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts may investigate the fault by taking submission from the Unit Council, the Venturer Scout Leader and the Venturer Scout concerned. Each case should be dealt with individually, according to the problem presented.

The Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts may request:

  1. Further training of Unit Leaders
  2. Review of examiners
  3. Further work to be completed by Venturer Scout, providing the conditions under which it is to be carried out are determined
  4. If the majority of the work is sub standard the BC Venturer Scouts may choose not to approve the Queen’s Scout Award

In many cases a simple phone call to the Venturer Scout Leader will clarify the problem areas.
