Location

Local picture theatre, community hall.

Transport

Resources

Tickets (make up your own), receipt book, door prize, parents committee for publicity. If a theatre is not available you will need a projector and projectionist (try a teacher), a screen (you could use a tent fly) and chairs.

Contacts

Local theatre management (well in advance). They can also tell you about new releases and/or film packages.
Village Roadshow, Melbourne.

Permission

Check whether you will need a lottery licence.

Training

None.

Problems

Working to a budget if you do not sell all your tickets.

Precautions

Understand the age group that you are dealing with and the sort of film that would be suitable.

Comments

Plan the night well in advance. Pre-sell all the tickets (have good marketing plans). Have door prizes, and competitions as you see fit. Use the interval time for Unit PR, explaining that the proceeds are for a specific project.
