Venturing Award Information

Queen’s Scout Award Badge

The award scheme in Venturers focuses on the Queen’s Scout Award.
This award requires achievement in each of Four Activity Areas, which in turn have a number of activities that need to be completed to reach the required standard.

Approval is required prior to the Venturer undertaking the activity.

There are Parameters (or guidance) for Venturers undertaking an activity.

The Award Standards Committee has a list of preferred examiners.

You can download the April 2004 Venturer Record Book (420 kB in PDF). All Venturers should be given a copy when they join a Unit.

SSABSA (Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia) recognises the Queen’s Scout Award.

Ask a question:
If you have any questions regarding the Queen’s Scout Award, you can send an E-mail to the Queen’s Scout Award Standard Committee.

Or you can use our on line form to ask a question. And see the FAQ page.

The other awards that are part of the Venturer Award Scheme are the Venturing skills Award, the Endeavour Award and the Major Interest Award.

All award badges are worn on the left sleeve of the uniform shirt, with the exception of the Venturing Skills Award which is worn above the right shirt pocket. The tapes representing completion of the various parts of the activity areas are all worn on the right sleeve of the uniform shirt.

See also our badges page, to see how the activity tapes are placed on the right sleeve.

We have produced a correlation sheet to show the differences between the Queen’s Scout Award and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
