VENTURING ON . . . news from Venturing SA
KATE’S BLURB:
Hullo everyone and welcome back for another year of challenges, learning, fun and friendship. This is just going to be a small blurb this month - there are a few flyers that we needed to put on our pages to let you all know about what activities are coming up.
But, there are a few things I would like to share with you. Firstly, on the very sad note of the death of Samantha (Bill) O’Reilly. Bill was a Venturer with Angle Vale Venturer Unit and assisted with Joey’s and Cub’s. She was a great asset to each of the sections she worked with and was a popular member of her Unit. It is a tragedy that this kind of thing happened and on behalf of the Venturer Section I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Sam’s family, her Venturer Unit and the members of the Groups that she worked with. Her dedication to her Scout work is a credit to her family and she will be very sadly missed by all of her Unit.
Meet and Munch’s are on again this year and they will be on the 3rd Wednesday night of every odd numbered months. The dates are: 19/3, 21/5, 16/7, 17/9, 19/11. I will be sending you out a note in the mail to let you know the content of the nights and I would really like to see you all attend at least one of these this year. I did appreciate the attendances we had last year and would like to see more VL’s and AVL’s come along for a night of sharing activities, program ideas, recruitment suggestions and the very popular activity of eating Tim Tam’s. These nights are designed for any Leader to attend and if you have any suggestions for topics of discussions, I would be pleased to have a chat with you.
Told you it was going to be a short one this month - have to trust me sometimes!! But please try to attend some of the M & M’s during the year and I look forward to seeing you all around the place during the year.
Yours in Venturing
