Air Activities Centre Blanchetown
Wouldn’t you love to have a great Family and
Group fun day or two? In pleasant, casual, “away
from it all” Riverland countryside?
Its quite simple, you know. Roll up your
sleeping bag. Pack your tucker box. Everything else you need is at the airfield.
Hop in the car and enjoy an hour and a half (from Adelaide) of a variety of your
States picturesque landscape.
The more the merrier. The bigger the party the more helpers. The more pleasure,
the more potential for building your Group; and isnt
that a major goal?
Ok! You've arrived at the airfield, off with the uniform, unpack your tent or move into the dormitories. When all else is done select your choice of activity from one of our long list or one of your own.
An Air Experience Flight over the Murray River
Circle with the pelicans and eagles. Take basic lessons on controlling the Motor Falke self launching glider, if you wish, or simply take in the scenery and the exhilarating sensation of motorless flight. We take off with the engine but switch it off when it comes time to glide. Powered and gliding flight combined - marvellous.
A Special Introductory Course
You taste and try before you buy. Most enjoyable you can be sure.
Full Training Through Solo
Perhaps you’ve already decided that now is the time to start your sport or career pilot future. We’d love to help you on your way.
Air Activity Awards
All Badge qualifications for Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Guides may be satisfied on site.
Model Aircraft
Building and flying model aircraft is a most popular project. Some noteworthy and hilarious outcomes add variety to the occasion.
Model Rockets
Perhaps this is your hobby. The airfield is available and ideal.
Flora and Fauna
Mallee surrounds offer nature lovers an abundance. Evening orienteering is often followed by a singsong around the campfire.
The Aircraft
Are owned by Scout Air Activity Leaders. Charges are at a no profit level.
They are maintained to Civil Aviation Safety Authority and Gliding Federation of
Australia (GFA) standards. The theme of Safety is pervasive and permanent
throughout Every Activity at the Air Activity Centre.
The Instructors
Two took their first flying lessons at the AACentre and have progressed through the required Education, Training and Experience requirements of the GFA to be competent Qualified Instructors. The successful flying training programme has been an outcome of very long and broad experience of the Project Commissioner for Air Activities in cooperation with every one who has ever participated in any way toward the establishment and maintenance of the Centre over the last sixteen years.
